VNM Direct Drive Xtreme is a 32 Nm Direct Drive wheelbase with a 23-bit absolute encoder and extensive FFB adjustment. The box includes an E-stop button and the base-side Quick Release. Add a wheel separately, such as the VNM Apex-R, to complete the setup. The wheelbase is designed for PC.
Available accessories
- Steering Wheels
The VNM Apex-R is a 330 mm leather-wrapped sim racing wheel with aluminium construction, four encoders, two funky switches, six buttons and SimHub support. It pairs with all four VNM Direct Drive bases: Premier 13 Nm, Elite 18 Nm, Supreme 25 Nm and Xtreme 32 Nm. Complete the rig with VNM Pedals V1 and the VNM Slipring.
+ Plug and Play Accessories
VNM Slipring is a slip ring for Direct Drive wheelbases, carrying power, data and control signals without twisting the steering-wheel cable. It fits the VNM Premier 13 Nm, Elite 18 Nm, Supreme 25 Nm and Xtreme 32 Nm. It works best with wheels that do not have a display.
VNM Quick Release Wheel Side is the part of the quick release fitted to the steering wheel. The CNC aluminium adapter uses a 6 x 70 mm bolt pattern and connects the wheel to VNM Quick Release Base Side. Its tool-free release makes wheel changes easier, while fitting one Wheel Side to each rim is useful with a VNM Direct Drive wheelbase and multiple wheels.

A 23-bit absolute encoder and aluminium construction
The absolute encoder reads shaft position at 8,388,608 positions per revolution. An integrated 480 MHz MCU controls the system. These figures describe measurement and control, not the number of effects supported in every game.
The CNC-machined aluminium housing is designed for front mounting. At 11.3 kg, the base requires a cockpit installation that accounts for both its weight and the forces transmitted through the wheel.
VNM SIMCENTER, telemetry and TIC mode
VNM SIMCENTER adjusts strength, damping, friction and inertia and stores game profiles. It allows steering response to be tuned rather than applying one set of settings to every car.
In supported titles, Telemetry FFB creates additional effects from simulator data. TIC blends them with the game's native Force Feedback at the chosen ratio. Check telemetry availability and setup separately from basic wheelbase support.

Front mounting and a separately chosen wheel
Mounting a steering wheel requires matching base-side and wheel-side VNM Quick Release parts. Both are sold separately, as is the wheel itself. VNM Apex-R is one compatible option; account for its supplied accessories when completing the mounting setup.
An optional Slipring tidies the USB connection but is not a universal solution for every display. For its installation, VNM recommends a front plate no thicker than 10 mm; a thicker bracket may need a spacer or slim USB-C connector.

1. What is VNM Direct Drive Xtreme?
It is a Direct Drive wheelbase for Windows PC simulators. The motor drives the wheel without a belt transmission, and VNM specifies 32 Nm of continuous torque. A steering wheel and pedals are not included.
2. Do I have to use all 32 Nm?
No. Strength is adjusted in VNM SIMCENTER and the game. High torque provides headroom, but settings should suit the wheel, rig and your own capabilities. Start the initial setup at low strength and increase it gradually.
3. What does a 23-bit absolute encoder mean?
The encoder distinguishes 8,388,608 positions in one shaft revolution to measure steering position precisely. Encoder resolution is not the update rate or the amount of Force Feedback torque.
4. What is the difference between Telemetry FFB and TIC mode?
Telemetry FFB uses additional data from a supported simulator to create wheel effects. TIC blends those effects with standard DirectInput FFB, with the balance set in VNM SIMCENTER. You do not have to replace all of the game's native feedback with telemetry effects.
5. Does Telemetry FFB work in every game supported by the base?
No. Standard Force Feedback support and telemetry support are separate. VNM lists games including iRacing, ACC and Le Mans Ultimate for Telemetry FFB and TIC. Other games can use DirectInput FFB without those additional effects.
6. Is a steering wheel or Quick Release included?
No. Neither the steering wheel nor either Quick Release part is included. The base-side QR and matching wheel-side adapter must be purchased separately. One wheel option is the VNM Apex-R; check its supplied accessories when choosing the required mounting parts.
7. Can I fit a third-party steering wheel?
Yes, with suitable mechanical adaptation and a matching Quick Release. Mechanical fit does not automatically make buttons, paddles and displays communicate through the base. The wheel electronics need their own compatible USB connection to the PC or a suitably matched Slipring connection.
8. Which cockpit mounting does Xtreme require?
VNM's current specification calls for front mounting with M8 bolts. The bracket must match the base and cockpit hole patterns and provide rigid support. Do not assume bottom or side mounting because it appears in another wheelbase's description.
9. Is an emergency stop button included?
Yes. An aluminium E-stop for emergency motor stopping is included. Position it within easy reach from the driving seat and use it according to the device instructions.
10. Is VNM Slipring required, and does it support every display?
Slipring is optional and is not included. VNM Slipring routes the connection through the rotating shaft without twisting a loose wheel cable. VNM recommends it primarily for screen-free wheels; some displays, including VoCore units, may disconnect.
11. How long is the warranty for VNM products?
VNM products purchased from Simline.eu are covered by full warranty protection for up to 2 years within the European Union, in accordance with VNM warranty terms.
12. How do I submit a warranty claim for a VNM product?
Simline.eu acts as an intermediary in the warranty process and handles claims for products purchased from us. Please email support@simline.eu with a description of the fault and photos and videos showing the issue, then pack the equipment.
