Simagic GT4-C is a 300 mm GT wheel with a carbon-fibre body, silicone grips, 12 RGB buttons and two seven-way switches. Hall-sensor shifters and the included QR50 keep the setup responsive and easy to swap between sessions. It works with Simagic Alpha and Alpha EVO wheelbases.
Simagic GT4-C – 300 mm carbon-fibre wheel for GT racing
Simagic GT4-C is built around a 300 mm layout that feels natural in GT cars, prototypes and modern touring machinery. It gives the hands more room than a narrow Formula wheel, yet it remains compact enough for quick changes of direction and precise corrections through fast corners.
The main structure is made from carbon fibre, while the shaped silicone grips provide a stable hold with or without gloves. At around 1.3 kg, the wheel does not place unnecessary rotating mass on the wheelbase, which helps preserve the detail and response of the Force Feedback.
The front panel keeps the main controls close to the driver’s thumbs. Twelve illuminated buttons and two multi-position switches provide enough inputs for car settings, race functions and menu navigation without covering the wheel in rows of small controls.

A 300 mm format suited to modern race cars
The size of the GT4-C sits between a small Formula wheel and a larger round rim. It is wide enough to avoid making the arms feel cramped, but it still reacts quickly when the car changes direction through a chicane or during a rapid correction.
This balance works particularly well in GT3, GT4, LMP and endurance machinery. These cars usually use a steering range that keeps both hands in a stable position throughout the lap, so the cut upper and lower sections do not interfere with normal driving.
The wheel is less focused on large steering angles than a round rim. Rally and drifting often require the wheel to rotate freely through the hands, while the GT4-C is designed primarily for cars where the driver keeps a firm grip at approximately nine and three o’clock.
Silicone grips for regular driving
The grips are formed from silicone rather than Alcantara. They are easy to clean, do not require racing gloves and retain a consistent surface during frequent use.
The profile gives the fingers and palms a clear resting position. Hands stay supported through longer corners without forcing the driver to squeeze the wheel unnecessarily.
This becomes useful during endurance sessions, where comfort depends less on softness and more on maintaining the same natural hand position over a longer period.
Controls placed within easy reach
The GT4-C uses twelve RGB buttons for functions that need to be accessed quickly. They can be assigned to the pit limiter, radio, headlights, wipers, ignition, DRS, camera controls or confirmation commands, depending on the simulator and car.
The button lighting can also make the layout easier to remember. Pit functions may use one colour, vehicle settings another and communication controls a third. Once the arrangement becomes familiar, the driver can identify a function without reading the button label.
The front panel is not as densely packed as newer wheels with several banks of encoders. That simpler arrangement has an advantage: each control is easy to locate by touch, even when attention remains on the track.
Two seven-way switches
The two multi-position switches are useful for functions that would otherwise require several separate buttons. They can be assigned to dashboard pages, black-box menus, strategy settings or navigation through the car’s onboard controls.
One switch can handle race information, while the second controls vehicle settings. This keeps the twelve main buttons available for commands that require an immediate response.
Hall-sensor paddle shifters
The included gear paddles use Hall sensors rather than conventional electrical contacts. Their activation remains consistent, and the shift point is easy to feel during rapid upshifts or several downshifts before a slow corner.
The standard version includes the gear paddles required for GT and prototype racing. Selected versions can also be equipped with an additional pair of clutch paddles.
Clutch paddles are useful for standing starts, particularly in Formula cars, prototypes and modern GT machinery. When they are not needed for clutch control, supported simulators may allow them to be assigned to other functions.
Carbon-fibre structure and low rotating mass
The central structure is made from carbon fibre rather than a decorative carbon-look panel. It keeps the wheel rigid around the grips, controls and paddle mounts when the Direct Drive base produces stronger forces.
The weight of approximately 1.3 kg makes the GT4-C lighter than many wheels with large displays or heavy metal housings. Lower rotating mass helps the wheelbase reproduce quick changes in direction without having to move unnecessary weight.
This can be particularly noticeable on lower- and mid-torque wheelbases, where a lighter wheel allows smaller road details and the beginning of a slide to remain easier to read.
Compatibility with Simagic wheelbases
Simagic GT4-C includes the Simagic QR50 Quick Release and works with wheelbases from the Alpha and Alpha EVO families:
- Simagic Alpha Mini
- Simagic Alpha
- Simagic Alpha U
- Simagic Alpha EVO Sport
- Simagic Alpha EVO
- Simagic Alpha EVO Pro
- Simagic Alpha EVO Ultra
The QR50 allows the wheel to be removed without undoing mounting bolts. A round wheel can be fitted for rally, drifting or classic cars, and the GT4-C can be reinstalled when returning to circuit racing.
Before the first session, it is worth updating SimPro Manager and checking the firmware of both the steering wheel and wheelbase. Current software reduces the risk of problems with button mapping, lighting or paddle detection.
Installation on third-party wheelbases
Mechanical installation on selected third-party wheelbases may be possible with a suitable adapter, spacer or wheel-side Quick Release. The exact mounting parts depend on the shaft and bolt pattern used by the wheelbase.
A secure mechanical fit does not automatically provide full electronic compatibility. The GT4-C was designed around the Simagic communication system, so buttons, lighting, switches and paddles may remain inactive on another manufacturer’s wheelbase.
Mounting, power and data communication should therefore be checked separately before ordering conversion parts.
Pedals for a matching Simagic setup
The GT4-C can be used with pedals from any manufacturer. Simagic pedal sets are a convenient option for drivers who prefer to keep the main controls within one ecosystem.
- Simagic P500 – an accessible Load Cell set for drivers moving beyond basic pedals
- Simagic P700 – adjustable Load Cell pedals with room for later upgrades
- Simagic P1000 – a modular platform supporting hydraulic and haptic accessories
- Simagic P2000 – hydraulic pedals intended for more advanced cockpits
Comparison with traditional round wheels
Compared with a conventional round wheel, the GT4-C places more controls close to the hands and uses a shape better suited to cars with limited steering rotation.
The Simagic GT1-SR Leather and Simagic GT1-SR Alcantara remain more natural for rally, drifting, classic cars and road vehicles because their complete rims can rotate freely through the driver’s hands.
The GT4-C is the more focused option for GT, prototype and endurance racing. Its compact shape and paddle layout are built around keeping both hands in one stable position.
