Simagic GTC Leather is a complete 325 mm circuit-racing wheel designed for GT cars, LMP machinery, prototypes and endurance events. Leather-covered grips, a cut-off top aluminium rim, 8 RGB buttons, several rotary controls and Hall-sensor shift paddles provide a comfortable layout for long stints. The QR50 is included, and the wheel works with Simagic Alpha and Alpha EVO wheelbases.
Simagic GTC Leather – a 325 mm wheel for GT, LMP and endurance racing
Simagic GTC Leather is shaped around circuit cars where the driver keeps both hands near the sides of the rim for most of the lap. Its 325 mm width provides more leverage than a small Formula wheel without slowing the quick steering movements required through chicanes and technical sections.
The upper part of the rim is cut away, leaving a clearer view of the display or dashboard positioned behind the wheelbase. The side grips remain full and clearly shaped, giving both hands stable support when force feedback becomes heavier.
The leather version is a practical choice for a cockpit used regularly. It works well without gloves, is straightforward to clean and requires less maintenance than a suede-style grip surface.

A 325 mm rim for modern circuit cars
The GTC sits between compact Formula wheels and the larger round rims used for rallying or drifting. Its wider grip position gives the arms a more natural angle during long races while still allowing fast steering inputs.
The additional leverage makes small corrections feel slightly calmer. This can help through high-speed corners, where an unnecessary movement may disturb the balance of the car.
The wheel remains responsive enough for rapid direction changes and tight chicanes. It feels most natural in GT3, GT4, LMP, prototype and touring cars using a low or medium steering range.
A clearer view of the dashboard
The lowered upper section leaves more open space between the side grips. A virtual instrument cluster, separate telemetry screen or dashboard mounted above the wheelbase remains easier to see.
This is particularly useful when the monitor is positioned close to the steering shaft. Speed, gear and warning information can stay within the driver’s natural line of sight.
Leather grips for regular driving
The grip sections are finished in perforated leather. Small openings in the material help manage moisture, while the shaped profile keeps the hands settled without requiring excessive pressure.
The leather works well with bare hands. This makes the wheel convenient for shorter practice sessions when the driver does not want to put on racing gloves.
Gloves can still be useful during endurance events because they reduce direct contact with perspiration, but they are not required to maintain a secure grip.
Looking after the leather surface
After driving, the grips can be wiped gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Strong household cleaners and excessive water should be avoided because they may affect the finish over time.
Unlike Alcantara, leather does not require regular brushing to restore compressed fibres. It is therefore easier to maintain in a cockpit used several times each week.
CNC aluminium rim and rigid control hub
The main rim structure uses CNC-machined anodised aluminium. The control hub combines aluminium with carbon-fibre components.
Rigidity matters when the wheel is connected to a Direct Drive base. During a kerb strike, sudden loss of grip or fast correction, the control panel should move with the rim rather than flexing independently.
At approximately 1850 g, the complete wheel has a settled character. It carries more rotational mass than an ultra-light composite wheel, smoothing some of the sharpest impulses while still communicating tyre load and front-axle behaviour clearly.
Eight programmable RGB buttons
Eight RGB buttons are positioned across the front panel. They can operate the pit limiter, radio, headlights, wipers, DRS, camera controls or pit-stop confirmation.
Colour coding makes the layout easier to remember. Pit functions may use red, communication blue and lighting controls white.
After a few sessions, the driver can recognise a command through position and colour rather than reading every label during a braking zone.
Labels matched to the driver’s own layout
A button-label set is supplied with the steering wheel. The panel can therefore be marked around the functions actually used in the simulator.
A GT3 profile may differ from an LMP or touring-car layout. Applying the labels after finalising the assignments avoids unnecessary changes later.
Two seven-way multi-position switches
Each seven-way switch combines directional input, rotation and a push function. One physical control can therefore handle several commands without taking up the space of multiple buttons.
The switches are useful for black-box navigation, dashboard pages, strategy settings and simulator menus.
One can handle the game interface while the other controls vehicle adjustments, leaving the RGB buttons free for commands requiring an immediate response.
Rotary controls for vehicle settings
Two main rotary encoders and two smaller thumb controls allow the driver to change settings during a session. Their different shapes and positions make them easier to recognise by touch.
Possible assignments include brake balance, engine maps, differential settings, engine braking, audio volume and other parameters supported by the selected car.
The thumb rotaries sit close to the grips, allowing adjustments without fully releasing the steering wheel.
Illuminated ABS and traction-control rotaries
Two additional rotary controls are commonly assigned to ABS and traction control. Their lighting helps distinguish between the settings in a dark cockpit.
Not every vehicle provides adjustable ABS or traction control. Where these systems are unavailable, the inputs can operate engine maps, fuel strategy, display pages or other functions.
Programmable lighting
Button and rotary lighting can be configured through SimPro Manager. In supported titles, colours may respond to telemetry events such as ABS, traction-control, DRS or pit-limiter activity.
The rev indicator in the upper part of the hub helps the driver judge the shift point without repeatedly checking the vehicle dashboard.
The exact effects available depend on the telemetry supplied by each simulator.
Hall-sensor shift paddles
Shift paddles are fitted behind the rim and use Hall sensors. Their movement is detected magnetically rather than through a conventional electrical contact.
This provides a repeatable activation point and limits wear on the sensing component. Gear changes remain clear during relaxed endurance driving and rapid downshifts before a braking zone.
Optional clutch-paddle version
The GTC is also available with an additional pair of clutch paddles. This layout is useful for standing starts in GT cars and prototypes.
The selected package should be checked before purchase. The standard shift-paddle version and the expanded dual-clutch configuration use different rear-paddle arrangements.
Simagic QR50 Quick Release included
Simagic GTC Leather is supplied with the QR50 Quick Release. The wheel-side connector is already included, so another Quick Release is not required for installation on a compatible Simagic wheelbase.
The mechanism allows the wheel to be removed without undoing mounting screws. The same wheelbase can therefore use the GTC for circuit racing and a full round wheel for rally or drift sessions.

Button, rotary, switch, paddle and lighting data is communicated to a compatible wheelbase without a USB cable running from the rotating wheel to the computer.
Configuration through SimPro Manager
SimPro Manager is used to check each input, adjust the lighting and update the wheel firmware.
Separate profiles can be prepared for different vehicles. A GT3 setup may use the buttons for radio, the pit limiter and headlights, while a prototype may require DRS, engine-map and energy-strategy controls.
Updating the wheelbase firmware before the first session is also recommended. Current software helps maintain reliable communication and correct input detection.
GTC Leather or GTC Alcantara?
Both versions use the same 325 mm structure and control layout. The difference is the material used around the grip sections.
The leather version is easier to maintain and works well without gloves. Simagic GTC Alcantara provides a softer, higher-friction surface but requires more regular cleaning.
Simagic GTC Leather during long stints
Simagic GTC Leather combines a wide circuit-racing rim with enough controls for most modern race cars. Its 325 mm size feels calmer than a small Formula wheel without losing the response required for quick circuit driving.
The leather grips suit regular use, the metal construction remains rigid under load and the Hall-sensor paddles provide consistent gear changes.
