A 270 mm Formula shape with Alcantara grips

F1 Esports V2 has a compact, 270 mm Formula-style shape. It is designed for driving with your hands on the side grips, keeping the main controls accessible without reaching for a keyboard.

The front plate is CNC-machined, anodised aluminium with a metal support structure underneath. The grips are covered in genuine Alcantara. The model is officially licensed by Formula 1.

Buttons, FunkySwitch and RGB telemetry

Controls include 11 buttons, an analogue joystick and a 7-way FunkySwitch with rotary encoder input. A blue LED display shows basic information from supported games and helps navigate the base's Tuning Menu.

A strip of 9 RGB RevLEDs is complemented by 6 RGB FlagLEDs. Colours and effects can be configured in FanaLab on PC. Two motors in the grips add vibration where supported by the game or hardware settings.

Magnetic shifters with upgrade options

The preinstalled CSL Elite Magnetic Paddle Module uses neodymium magnets and 3 mm aluminium paddle plates. Its cage is made from polymer composite. The standard setup provides two gear-shift paddles.

It can be replaced with the separately available ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module or Podium Advanced Paddle Module. The latter adds analogue clutches and an extra pair of paddles, but is not included in this package.

Included QR2 and connection through a Fanatec base

A metal QR2 Wheel-Side is included in a separate package. The base must have a matching QR2 connection; an older QR1 cannot connect to QR2 without choosing the appropriate compatible parts.

The wheel operates on PC through a compatible Fanatec base, and on PlayStation through a properly licensed base. F1 Esports V2 does not provide Xbox support. Check both the Quick Release and the platform requirements when choosing the rest of the setup.

1. Is F1 Esports V2 a complete racing setup?

No. It is a steering wheel with paddles and an included QR2 Wheel-Side. It requires a separate, compatible Fanatec wheel base. A wheel base and pedals are not included.

2. What driving style is it designed for?

Primarily Formula cars. Its 270 mm diameter and defined grips suit driving without moving your hands around a full circular rim. It is officially licensed by Formula 1, but is not restricted to one game franchise.

3. How many buttons and rotary controls does F1 Esports V2 have?

Fanatec specifies 11 buttons, an analogue joystick and one 7-way FunkySwitch with a rotary encoder function. There are no additional side rotary controls. Joystick and FunkySwitch directions should not be counted as extra physical buttons.

4. Does the wheel have an OLED?

No. It has a blue LED display for basic information such as speed or gear and for the Tuning Menu. Telemetry depends on the game. Above the display are 9 RGB RevLEDs, with a further 6 RGB FlagLEDs.

5. Which Quick Release is included?

A metal QR2 Wheel-Side, packaged separately. It is not QR1 or QR2 Lite. The wheel base needs a matching QR2 connection; direct attachment to a QR1-equipped base should not be assumed.

6. Does F1 Esports V2 work with ClubSport DD and DD+?

Yes. The official pages for ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+ confirm support for Fanatec wheels fitted with QR2. Platform support depends on the base; PlayStation requires a licensed model.

7. Are magnetic shifters and clutch paddles included?

Two magnetic gear-shift paddles are preinstalled as the CSL Elite Magnetic Paddle Module. Analogue clutches are not included. The separately available Podium Advanced Paddle Module adds a dual clutch system and an extra pair of paddles.

8. What produces vibration in the grips?

Two motors inside the wheel provide vibration separately from the base's Force Feedback motor. They can be controlled through SHO or a game using Fanatec SDK. Available effects depend on the setup and game support.

9. Can the wheel use a universal 6 × 70 mm mount?

It should not be treated as a separate rim with a universal mounting pattern. F1 Esports V2 is a complete wheel with electronics and a dedicated Fanatec connection. The current specification does not publish its QR mounting PCD.

10. Can LED colours and base settings be changed?

Yes, within the supported feature set. FanaLab on PC configures RGB RevLED and FlagLED effects. The wheel's Tuning Menu provides access to compatible base settings. Specific effects and data available while driving depend on the game and firmware.

11. How long is the warranty on Fanatec products?

14. Does this wheel work on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S?

No. F1 Esports V2 is not Xbox-licensed and the manufacturer excludes Xbox support. Attaching it to a base that works on Xbox with another wheel does not remove this restriction.

15. What is needed for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5?

A compatible PlayStation-licensed Fanatec base, such as Gran Turismo DD Pro or ClubSport DD+, and matching Quick Releases on both sides. The base provides console compatibility, not the wheel alone. Buttons, display and telemetry support can vary between games.

16. Does F1 Esports V2 work on a Windows PC?

Yes, through a compatible Fanatec base connected to the PC. The wheel does not have a standalone USB connection to the computer. Fanatec software is needed for updates and configuration, and the full feature set also depends on the game.
