VNM Lite Pedalset is a metal throttle, brake and clutch set for sim racing. The brake uses a 200 kg load cell, while the throttle and clutch run contactless angle sensors. Pedal height and angle are adjustable. A heel support is not included, so complete the installation with the VNM Pedal Heel Rest.

VNM Lite Pedalset - 3 pedal set

The brake is the centrepiece of the VNM Lite Pedalset. Its 200 kg load cell measures applied force instead of relying only on pedal position. This gives the driver a repeatable physical reference. Once the braking pressure becomes familiar, it is easier to approach the same threshold at the next corner.

The setup can be adapted to GT cars, prototypes and single-seaters. VNM software lets you calibrate the input, define dead zones and reshape the response curve. Full braking can therefore be reached at a sensible force for the driver and the stiffness of the rig, rather than at one fixed factory value.

Contactless throttle and clutch sensing

This version combines throttle, brake and clutch in one package. The throttle and clutch use contactless angle sensors, so signal measurement does not depend on a wiper moving along a resistive track. The result is a smooth input and less wear at the sensing point during regular use.

Ball bearings support all moving parts, keeping each stroke consistent without the rough feel found in simpler mechanisms. Powder-coated steel and anodised aluminium form the main structure. These are proper rig-mounted pedals built for a fixed driving position, not a lightweight floor set that has to be held in place by the driver's heels.

Physical adjustment and software calibration

Pedal height and angle can be adjusted to suit the seating position. This becomes important when the seat is low or the cockpit already places its pedal tray at an incline. A sensible pedal face position keeps the ankle working naturally and reduces unnecessary strain during long races.

The VNM control software handles calibration, dead zones and travel curves. You can soften the first part of the throttle response or set a practical maximum brake force for a particular driver. This also makes the set easier to share, as each user can tune the inputs around their own strength and driving style.

Rig installation, upgrades and limitations

VNM lists the three-pedal set at 5.3 kg with dimensions of 49 × 36 × 15 cm. A heel plate is not supplied. The pedals may be fitted directly to a compatible cockpit tray or assembled into one adjustable module with the VNM Pedal Heel Rest.

The Lite model cannot use the conventional VNM Damper Kit. It can, however, be expanded with the VNM Direct Haptic Pedals Reactor. Current Lite sets ship with the V2 controller required for this system, while the reactors, matching pedal brackets and necessary power supply must be selected separately.

VNM Lite Pedalset - questions and answers

1. What is included in the VNM Lite Pedalset?

This is a three-pedal package with throttle, brake and clutch. The pedals share a controller box, but a heel plate is not included. Installation must therefore match the pedal tray used in the cockpit.

2. How does the 200 kg load cell brake work?

The sensor measures force applied to the brake instead of reading only its position. The 200 kg figure describes the rated load cell capacity. It does not mean the driver must press that hard, as the preferred maximum braking force is set during calibration.

3. Which sensors are used for throttle and clutch?

Both pedals use contactless angle sensors. Measurement does not rely on a sensing wiper sliding across a track, which supports smooth input and reduces wear at the measuring element.

4. Can the pedal position be adjusted?

Yes. VNM provides pedal height and angle adjustment. This makes it possible to match the pedal faces to the tray angle, seat height and the driver's preferred leg position.

5. Do the pedals need calibration?

Yes. After installation, calibrate them with the VNM control software. The program can set minimum and maximum input, dead zones and response curves for each pedal.

6. Is a heel plate supplied?

No. The set does not include one. The pedals may be mounted directly to a suitable rig or combined with the VNM Pedal Heel Rest, which turns them into one adjustable module and provides a stable support point for the feet.

7. Can VNM Lite Pedalset be installed in a sim rig?

Yes. The metal structure and load cell brake are intended for secure mounting. Before installation, compare the mounting pattern with the cockpit tray and leave enough room for the controller box and cables.

8. Is the VNM Damper Kit compatible with the Lite model?

No. VNM explicitly states that the Lite pedal set cannot use damper kits. The conventional VNM Damper Kit should not be purchased for this version.

9. Can haptic feedback be added?

Yes. Current Lite pedals with the V2 controller can work with the VNM Direct Haptic Pedals Reactor. Reactors, pedal-specific brackets and the required power supply must be selected for the planned configuration.

10. Who is the VNM Lite Pedalset designed for?

It suits drivers moving to a three-pedal metal set with force-based braking but who do not need the more elaborate VNM V1 system. A rigid cockpit brings out the best in its load cell brake.
