Fanatec ClubSport DD+ is an officially licensed PlayStation Direct Drive wheel base delivering 18 Nm holding torque after updating to firmware V1.4.2.3 or newer. It features FullForce, FluxBarrier, passive cooling, a contactless Hall sensor, and a preinstalled QR2 Base-Side (Type-F). The base works with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, while Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S compatibility is available when an Xbox-licensed Fanatec wheel is used.

The custom servo motor applies force directly to the steering shaft without belts or gears. An optimised rotor-magnet skew angle reduces cogging, while FluxBarrier supports efficiency and smoothness. FullForce can reproduce additional high-frequency detail when implemented by the game.
Firmware V1.4.2.3 raised holding torque from the original 15 Nm to 18 Nm without a hardware change. The current rating requires that firmware or a newer version. The design is intended to sustain its force during long sessions rather than treating the maximum figure only as a short peak.
QR2 Base-Side (Type-F) was designed with the wheel base and uses diecast aluminium with a CNC-machined finish. Electronics are integrated into the shaft to reduce rotating mass. A compatible steering wheel can be exchanged without restarting the base or simulator.
The housing dissipates heat passively, while side and bottom rails support adjustable cockpit mounting. PlayStation licensing is built into the wheel base, so ClubSport DD+ works with PS5 and PS4 when a compatible wheel is used. An Xbox-licensed steering wheel can additionally enable Xbox console support.
The aluminum shaft is designed for high strength and stable motor operation. Relocating the slip ring electronics allowed for increased wall thickness. The bearing housing is also made entirely of aluminum, enhancing resistance to radial loads and rotational precision, as well as providing protection against EMI and ESD.
