The Fanatec Clubsport Handbrake V2 is an analogue sim-racing handbrake designed particularly for rallying and drifting. Its load cell sensor measures force applied through the lever, while the metal structure combines steel and aluminium parts with ball bearings at the pivot. The driver can adjust preload, select 60, 70 or 80 mm of travel, and change the lever angle and orientation. Capable to connect with fanatec wheelbase or pc.

Analogue load cell input for rallying and drifting

The load cell sensor produces a smooth analogue signal instead of a basic on/off input. A compatible game can therefore detect how far the handbrake is being applied, allowing the driver to modulate force when initiating a slide, correcting the car's trajectory or rotating it through a tight hairpin.

This behaviour is aimed primarily at rallying and drifting, but it can also be used in other simulations that support an analogue handbrake. The available range and axis mapping depend on the game, platform, connection method and current firmware of the connected Fanatec device.

Metal construction with a ball-bearing pivot

The housing and lever are made from black powder-coated aluminium, while the structure also uses steel components. Cast parts are CNC-finished. Compared with the previous generation, Fanatec redesigned the mechanism for greater strength and durability.

Ball bearings at the pivot support smooth and repeatable lever movement. The removable rubber grip has a spiral texture and can be pulled off while being turned slightly, then slid back onto the lever.

Adjustable preload, travel and lever angle

Removing the front cover provides access to the preload adjustment for the elastomer and load cell stack. Increasing preload raises the initial lever resistance, while reducing it creates a lighter response. Adjustment is made with the supplied 4 mm Allen key.

The travel spacer can be installed in two orientations to obtain 60 or 70 mm of movement, or removed for the full 80 mm travel. The lever has three main angle positions, supports an inverted orientation and includes a rear bolt assembly for fine adjustment of approximately 5 mm forward or backward.

Vertical or horizontal mounting with RJ12 or USB connection

Slotted mounting points allow the housing to be attached vertically or horizontally to an aluminium profile and angled slightly towards the driver. The supplied M6 T-nuts, bolts and washers support profile mounting. The included spacer also allows the handbrake to be fitted to the side of a ClubSport Shifter SQ V1.5, which is sold separately.

The 2 m RJ12 cable connects the handbrake to a compatible Handbrake port on a Fanatec wheel base or pedal set. The included ClubSport USB Adapter provides direct connection to a Windows PC. Table mounting requires a separate ClubSport Shifter SQ V1.5 and ClubSport Shifter Table Clamp.

Yes. Its load cell produces a smooth analogue signal, allowing a compatible game to detect how far the handbrake is applied rather than only on and off states.

2. Can the lever resistance be adjusted?

Yes. Preload adjustment changes the initial force applied to the elastomer and load cell stack. The adjustment mechanism is accessed under the front cover.

3. Which travel settings are available?

60, 70 and 80 mm. The two shorter settings use opposite orientations of the spacer, while removing it provides the full 80 mm travel.

4. Can the lever angle and orientation be changed?

Yes. The lever provides three main angle positions, an inverted orientation and fine adjustment of approximately 5 mm forward or backward through the rear bolt assembly.

5. Can the handbrake operate as a standalone PC device?

Yes. The included ClubSport USB Adapter connects it directly to a Windows PC. Analogue-axis support depends on the game.

6. Does it work on Xbox?

Yes, when connected to a supported Fanatec wheel base fitted with an Xbox-licensed Fanatec steering wheel. The game must also support a handbrake.

7. Does it work on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5?

Yes, when connected to a supported PlayStation-licensed Fanatec wheel base. The available functionality still depends on the game.

8. Can it be mounted to the ClubSport Shifter SQ V1.5?

Yes. The supplied spacer and hardware allow the handbrake to be attached to the side of the shifter. The shifter itself is sold separately.

9. Can the handbrake be clamped directly to a table?

Not by itself. Table mounting requires the handbrake to be attached to a ClubSport Shifter SQ V1.5 and then secured with the ClubSport Shifter Table Clamp. Both accessories are sold separately.
