A 280 mm format with carbon fibre and silicone grips
The Conspit 280 FR has a compact Formula shape and an open top that leaves more of the in-game instruments or an external display in view. Its 280 mm diameter suits the small, quick movements used in formula cars and prototypes, as well as GT racing.
A 3K prepreg carbon-fibre panel is paired with an aluminium body. The silicone grips have an aluminium core and a matte surface. The wheel weighs 1050 g without the adapter and quick release. Within the Conspit steering wheel range, it offers a compact control panel for drivers who do not need a built-in screen.
Thumb-accessible controls and 58 RGB LEDs
Buttons, encoders and switches put vehicle functions on the wheel rather than on the keyboard. The layout includes 12 RGB buttons, 2 additional buttons, two Funky Switches, four encoder wheels and five rotary switches. The six-position Dial Matrix changes selected encoder assignments and rotary macro configurations.
The lighting system has 58 RGB LEDs in total, including 10 RPM LEDs. Configure them through Conspit Link 2.0 or use SimHub to drive lighting from telemetry. An optional CSD Nano can show information including the active function assignments. The wheel itself has no screen.

One-handed shifting and adjustable clutch bite point
The linked rocker paddles allow upshifts and downshifts with either hand, leaving the other hand available for rotary adjustments. The aluminium mechanism uses magnetic action and contactless Hall sensors to detect inputs.
Two clutch paddles are standard equipment, not an extra module to purchase. In Conspit Link 2.0, calibrate their range, choose how the axes operate and set a clutch bite point for starts. The selected function also needs suitable input assignments and support within the game.
An internal ARES connection or direct USB to the PC
A compatible ARES wheelbase and the appropriate Type-C CDP or CDR quick release provide an internal connection without an external data cable. The quick release is selected separately. The supplied Quick-Con is a mounting adapter with a cable connection, not a complete quick release.
On another brand's wheelbase, the wheel electronics can communicate with the PC through the included coiled cable. The adapter provides a 70 mm PCD mounting pattern. Removing it also exposes the rear USB-C port. Check the quick release, bolt pattern and cable clearance before installation. The supported platform is Windows PC.

1. Which cars is the Conspit 280 FR suited to?
The Conspit 280 FR is designed mainly for formula cars and prototypes, and also suits GT racing. It has a 280 mm diameter and an open-top profile. It is not a full round rim intended for frequent hand-over-hand steering at large steering angles.
2. How many buttons does this wheel have?
The Conspit 280 FR has 14 buttons: 12 with RGB backlighting and 2 additional non-backlit buttons. Two 7-way Funky Switches, four encoder wheels, five rotary switches and the paddles are separate controls. Their functions should not be counted as additional ordinary push buttons.
3. Does the Conspit 280 FR have a screen?
No. The Conspit 280 FR has no built-in screen. The separately available CSD Nano can show the Dial Matrix position and encoder assignments configured through Conspit Link 2.0.
4. Can I shift gears with one hand?
Yes. The linked rocker mechanism allows both upshifts and downshifts with either hand. The paddles use magnetic action and contactless Hall sensors.
5. Are dual clutch paddles included?
Yes. Two Hall-sensor clutch paddles are fitted as standard. Conspit Link 2.0 allows range calibration, bite point adjustment and selection of axis modes. The assigned function also needs support from the game.
6. What does the central Dial Matrix do?
The six-position Dial Matrix switches the function assignments of selected encoders or activates configured rotary macros. For example, the same encoder can adjust brake balance in one position and another function in the next. These settings are configured in Conspit Link 2.0.
7. Can I use the wheel with another brand of wheelbase?
Yes, provided the quick release and mechanical mounting are compatible. Connect the 280 FR electronics directly to the PC by USB using the adapter and cable, or the rear USB-C port after removing Quick-Con. A mechanical fit alone does not provide communication through another brand's wheelbase electronics.
8. Is a quick release included?
No. Type-C versions of the CDP and CDR quick releases are separate accessories. The included Quick-Con 50-70 mm adapter provides mounting and a cable connection, but does not replace a quick release.
9. Does SimHub control the 280 FR lighting?
Yes. SimHub supports RGB and LED control when the relevant mode is enabled in Conspit Link 2.0. Colours and alerts can respond to game data such as RPM or flags. Available information depends on the simulator and configuration.
10. Does the Conspit 280 FR support PlayStation or Xbox?
The manufacturer specifies Windows PC support for the Conspit 280 FR, with no declared PlayStation or Xbox compatibility. Using a console-compatible wheelbase does not automatically make the entire setup console compatible.
11. How long is the warranty for Conspit products?
Simline is the largest authorised seller of Conspit in Poland and Europe. Simline.eu appears in Conspit's official directory of authorised sellers. As an authorised Conspit partner, all products from this brand are covered by full warranty protection for up to 2 years within the European Union, in accordance with Conspit warranty terms.
12. How do I submit a warranty claim for a Conspit product?
Simline.eu is an authorised Conspit partner, so we act as an intermediary in the warranty process and handle submissions. Please email support@simline.eu or conspit@simline.eu with photos and videos showing the defect and a description of the issue, and pack the equipment.
