An integrated connection without an external cable
Integrated electronics carry the connection between the wheel base and steering wheel through the DD Shaft Extension. Once installed, there is no external cable to connect manually when attaching the wheel to the QR2.
The component is CNC-machined from aluminium with a black-anodised finish. Fanatec states that force feedback detail is maintained when the extension is correctly connected to the base and QR2. This accessory changes the wheel position without increasing wheel-base power.
Made for ClubSport DD and DD+ with your existing QR2
The extension is designed for the Fanatec ClubSport DD and Fanatec ClubSport DD+ wheel bases. Installation reuses the QR2 Base-Side Type-F already fitted to your base: remove it from the shaft and move it to the front of the extension. A new QR2 Base-Side is not included.
Fanatec confirms support for steering wheels compatible with these bases. Keep the appropriate QR2 connection when selecting a wheel. The DD Shaft Extension is not a universal adapter for other Fanatec wheel-base families.

Install with new bolts and the Assist Tool
The set includes eight M5 x 12 mm bolts, a 4 mm Allen key and an Assist Tool with an M6 x 12 mm bolt. The assist tool holds the shaft while the original QR2 is unbolted. Switch off the wheel base and disconnect its power before installation.
Do not reuse the bolts removed with the QR2. Fit the extension and QR2 with the new bolts at approximately 4 Nm, following the instructions. Check connector orientation and protect the pins. Use only one extension and avoid unnecessary loads on it.

- Quick Guide
Reuse the QR2 Base-Side Type-F from your wheel base. The wheel base, steering wheel, monitor and cockpit shown in the images are not included.
1. What does the Fanatec DD Shaft Extension do?
It increases the distance between your wheel base and steering wheel by 150 mm. On a suitably adjustable rig, this creates more room to position the monitor behind the rim.
2. Which wheel bases work with this extension?
The Fanatec DD Shaft Extension is designed for ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+. The manufacturer specifies using the QR2 Base-Side Type-F taken from one of these wheel bases.
3. Does the DD Shaft Extension fit CSL DD or Gran Turismo DD Pro?
These bases are not listed as compatible with the DD Shaft Extension. It is designed for ClubSport DD and DD+; using the QR2 system alone does not establish compatibility with another base.
4. Is a new QR2 Base-Side included?
No. Remove the QR2 Base-Side Type-F from your existing ClubSport DD or DD+ wheel base and fit it to the front of the extension.
5. Do I need to connect an extra cable to the steering wheel?
No manual external cable connection is needed between the base and wheel. The extension carries the connection through its integrated electronics. During installation, align the connectors correctly and protect the pins.
6. Can I combine two extensions for more distance?
No. Fanatec instructions prohibit using multiple DD Shaft Extensions at the same time. The manufacturer also warns against putting unnecessary stress on the extension.
7. Will any monitor fit between the base and steering wheel?
There is no universal fit guarantee. Check the space required by the monitor housing, mount adjustment and seat position before buying. The narrow extension helps with placement, but does not establish compatibility with every rig.
8. Which bolts and tightening torque should I use?
Use the new M5 x 12 mm bolts supplied: four at the base and four at the QR2. The instructions specify approximately 4 Nm. Do not reuse the bolts removed from the original QR2 mounting.
9. Are installation tools included?
Yes. The set includes a 4 mm Allen key, an Assist Tool and an M6 x 12 mm bolt to attach it. The Assist Tool helps hold the shaft while undoing the QR2 bolts. Switch off and unplug the base before starting.
10. Does the DD Shaft Extension affect force feedback detail?
Fanatec states that force feedback detail is maintained when the extension is fitted correctly. The aluminium component connects the base to the QR2. It does not change the wheel base torque specification.
