The Simucube 3 70 mm Adapter is made for drivers who want the latest Simucube wheelbase while continuing to use a familiar third-party quick release. It replaces the original wheelbase-side Simucube Link Quick Release component and creates an industry-standard 70 mm mechanical interface directly on the motor shaft.

That means an established collection of wheels does not always need to be rebuilt around a new QR ecosystem. The adapter is useful when moving to Simucube 3 from another platform, building a motorsport-style installation or using USB and Bluetooth steering wheels that already have their own independent method of communication.

Six M5 mounting points on a 70 mm pattern

Six threaded M5 holes are arranged on a 70 mm pitch circle, a common pattern among wheelbase-side quick release systems. Simucube instructs users to engage at least three of the available mounting points. Before ordering, verify both the 70 mm diameter and the mounting arrangement used by the selected QR rather than relying on its outside dimensions alone.

The adapter fits the complete Simucube 3 family: Sport, Pro and Ultimate. It is not a Simucube 2 shaft adapter and it does not convert a 50.8 mm pattern into 70 mm. Keeping these different accessories separate helps prevent an incorrect purchase when two products appear similar but connect to entirely different parts of the steering system.

Installation hardware and tools are included

The package contains the adapter, three M5x20 screws, six M5x16 screws, three M5 locking washers, a 3 mm hex key and a T10 Torx key. These parts support removal of the original Link interface and installation of the adapter plate. Simucube also specifies a 4 mm hex key for tightening the adapter to the motor shaft.

Screw length for the third-party quick release depends on the thickness of that component. A screw must not project more than 10 mm beyond the QR mounting face, so thin interfaces may need alternative fasteners. Switch the wheelbase off, disconnect its power supply and protect the Link cable during removal before installing the plate.

Understand what changes without Simucube Link

This adapter provides a mechanical connection while replacing the original Simucube Link QR interface on the wheelbase. Wireless power and data are therefore not carried through a third-party quick release. The wheel must use its own USB cable, battery or separately supported Bluetooth connection.

The adapter does not alter force feedback quality or the way the wheelbase attaches to a cockpit. Its single purpose is to connect the Simucube 3 shaft to an external QR system.
