Telemetry-driven QS-210 motion

QS-210 is a motion system manufactured in Poland that uses game telemetry to control cockpit movement. Four actuators in the 3DOF configuration reproduce braking, acceleration, body roll, surface changes and suspension movement. Each actuator provides 60 mm of travel.

Setup is handled through the free Qubic Manager software developed by Motion Systems engineers. Its washout filters organise incoming game data and keep the platform within its available movement range. Individual effects can be adjusted separately to match the selected simulator and the driver's preferences.

Starter Set: a complete 2DOF configuration

The Starter Set provides everything needed to run a motion system without selecting the controller and power hardware separately. Two QS-210 actuators offer 60 mm of travel each and move the cockpit in a 2DOF arrangement. Another actuator pair can be added later.

The QS-MC6 connects the system to the PC. It also includes a MOTION-LOCK Switch for stopping movement before entering the cockpit or working on the rig.

Pivot Set: more movement from two actuators

The Pivot variant combines two QS-210 actuators with a QS-Pivot support installed on the opposite side of the cockpit. Qubic System describes this arrangement as 2.5DOF. It adds another type of movement without requiring a four-actuator system.

QS-Pivot height is matched to the QS-210. It also works with the taller QS-220, although the cockpit may sit at a slight angle when those actuators are at mid-stroke. An aluminium-profile spacer can be used when a level starting position is required.

Upgrade Set: moving from 2DOF to 3DOF

This variant is intended for an existing Starter Set. It adds another pair of actuators and a second power cabinet, turning the 2DOF system into a 3DOF setup without replacing previously purchased hardware.

The second cabinet joins the working system, so another USB controller is not required. Four support points allow the left and right sides of the cockpit to move separately, making roll, kerbs and vehicle load changes easier to read.

Included:

Complete QS-210 set: four-actuator 3DOF configuration

The complete 3DOF configuration includes four QS-210 actuators, two power cabinets and one QS-MC6. Each actuator provides 60 mm of travel, allowing the cockpit to respond with pitch, roll and vertical movement generated from game telemetry.

Four actuators make it easier to separate movement between the left and right sides of the rig. The driver can feel kerbs, bumps, balance changes and differences in wheel loading more clearly. Individual effects are adjusted in Qubic Manager.

Detachable shielded connectors

Newer QS-210 actuators and power cabinets use detachable connectors with chrome-plated brass housings. Their shielded construction helps limit electromagnetic interference around signal cables and nearby equipment.

The cable does not have to be routed together with the complete actuator. The connector can be unplugged, the wiring can be placed along the frame, and the connection can then be restored. This also makes it easier to remove one component for servicing.

What 60 mm of travel means on the rig

Each QS-210 actuator provides 60 mm of travel. In a two-actuator or four-actuator arrangement, this range is used to create pitch, roll and vertical movement of the complete cockpit.

A short impulse can reproduce a kerb or surface bump, while a larger part of the stroke is available for braking, acceleration and changes in platform angle. Actual seat movement also depends on actuator spacing and the geometry of the frame.

Mounting, power and initial setup

The set includes the parts required to fit the QS-210 to an aluminium-profile cockpit. Once the actuators are installed, the power cabinet, QS-MC6 controller and computer must be connected according to the manufacturer's instructions.

The system accepts 115/230 V AC power. The free Qubic Manager software detects the devices, loads a game profile and controls motion intensity. Before driving, check the cable routing and the cockpit's full range of movement.

Brackets for flat profile surfaces

Dedicated brackets and adapters position the actuators against the flat sides of the cockpit profiles. Their adjustment helps match the width of the frame and maintain similar geometry on both sides of the rig.

The adapters do not compensate for a flexible cockpit. Before installation, check that the profiles, corner brackets and all joints can support the combined weight of the driver, seat and equipment while the platform is moving.

Two bracket mounting layouts

The QS-210 brackets can be installed in two layouts. This allows the actuator position to be matched to the space beside the profile and to the required height of the cockpit support point.

Use the same arrangement on both sides of the frame and leave enough clearance for the full 60 mm stroke. Before driving, run a low-intensity movement test and make sure no part catches on the frame or nearby equipment.

System response below 8 ms

The manufacturer specifies system latency below 8 ms. Platform movement therefore begins very shortly after telemetry data is received from the game.

This matters for quick cues such as hitting a kerb, locking a wheel or experiencing a sudden load change. When movement remains closely aligned with the image and steering feedback, the platform does not feel late to react.

QS-210 within the Qubic System ecosystem

QS-210 can form the base of a separate motion system or become part of a larger configuration. A four-actuator arrangement fits the QS-CH1 frame, and the QS-210 can also be used with the QS-CH2 platform.

Installation on another aluminium-profile cockpit requires suitable brackets and a sufficiently rigid frame. Qubic System devices are configured in one program, so adding another module does not require a separate application.

Motion control in Qubic Manager

Qubic Manager receives telemetry from supported PC titles and converts it into actuator movement. Braking, acceleration, roll, pitch, surface effects and vibration can be adjusted separately.

The software is available free of charge and receives updates that expand the list of supported titles. Check the current game list before purchase, as the available telemetry channels vary between simulators.

VR with motion compensation

QS-210 can be used on a rig equipped with a VR headset. The VR HeadWay function in Qubic Manager compensates for cockpit movement so the virtual viewpoint does not move together with the physical platform.

The computer must still maintain the frame rate required by the chosen headset. Route the headset cable outside the working area of the actuators and all other moving parts of the cockpit.

1. What is the Qubic System QS-210?

2. How do the four variants differ?

The Starter Set creates 2DOF, the Pivot Set adds a pivot support, the Upgrade Set adds two actuators to an existing system, and the 3DOF configuration already contains four actuators and QS-MC6.

3. Can the Upgrade Set operate on its own?

Not as a complete PC-controlled system. It is intended to be combined with an existing Starter Set and does not include its own QS-MC6.
