A black 40 Nm cockpit for focused practice

SIMGASM Sport Black is the compact high-torque step below the larger Pro platform. Its 40 x 120 mm main profiles suit league practice, endurance sessions and Direct Drive hardware that needs a stable reference point. SIMGASM places Sport and Pro in the same recommended band for wheelbases producing more than 26 and up to 40 Nm.

The black finish keeps the frame visually quiet when the cockpit carries hardware from several ecosystems. It lets the display, wheel and telemetry remain the focal point while the chassis blends with common black housings. Compare alternative layouts in sim racing cockpits.

A wheelbase number does not describe the complete load path. The wheel support, uprights and lower frame must keep the steering axis consistent as torque changes direction. Sport combines deep profiles with tier-specific metal hardware so the structure does not absorb the short cues used to read grip, kerbs and countersteer.

A higher-rated wheelbase can still be useful when the driver runs less than its nominal torque. That reserve creates headroom for transients and can reduce clipping once driver strength and in-game gain are balanced correctly. A base above the chassis guideline may fit mechanically, but its output must be limited to a safe level or paired with the Pro tier. Browse current Direct Drive wheelbases when planning the mount.

Route the installation before adding motion

Integrated cable passthroughs give the build a defined path for wheelbase, pedal and accessory wiring. Keeping cables inside the profiles reduces loose loops near adjustable brackets and leaves a cleaner area around the seat. The dark finish makes the remaining harness less prominent without hiding access points during service.

The chassis is motion-ready, meaning the frame has been planned with later system integration in mind. Actuators, controls and the hardware required for a specific motion kit are not included. A static build can therefore start with the essential controls and gain new functions later. Suitable trays, supports and cable accessories are available under sim rig accessories.

Choose Bottom, Front, Side or Asetek Front Mount at checkout. The correct decision comes from the threaded points on the exact wheelbase housing, not from brand recognition alone. The regular Front Mount supports listed Fanatec, Simucube and VRS models but is not the SIMAGIC solution. Supported SIMAGIC hardware uses Bottom or Side Mount.

The package contains profiles, structural brackets, the selected wheelbase mount, Apex shifter and handbrake arm, heel rest, rubber feet, bolts, tools, instructions and assembly gloves. The seat, slider, wheelbase, wheel, pedals, side devices, display and stand remain separate. Select seating from sim racing seats and plan the display through TV and monitor stands.

SIMGASM Sport Black - questions and answers

1. Who is SIMGASM Sport Black designed for?

It suits drivers planning a permanent high-rigidity cockpit with Direct Drive hardware, serious pedals and a possible motion upgrade. The black frame is easy to combine with mixed-brand equipment.

2. What wheelbase torque band does SIMGASM recommend?

Sport or Pro is recommended for wheelbases producing more than 26 and up to 40 Nm. Above 40 Nm, the Pro platform is the manufacturer's preferred tier.

3. Can a wheelbase rated above 40 Nm be installed?

It may fit when the housing pattern and bracket match, but mechanical compatibility is not a full-output rating. Limit torque to a safe level for the chassis or move to Pro.

4. Why choose a stronger base if full torque is not required?

Extra capacity provides headroom for sharp peaks. With the driver strength and game gain balanced correctly, this helps retain signal separation and reduce clipping.

5. How do I select the wheelbase mount?

Choose Bottom, Front or Side Mount from the threaded points on the exact housing. Asetek La Prima, Forte and Invicta use the dedicated Asetek Front Mount option.

6. Does the regular Front Mount support SIMAGIC?

No. Supported SIMAGIC bases use Bottom Mount or Side Mount hardware, depending on the model and housing revision.

7. What does the 300 kg pedal-deck figure mean?

It is the stated braking-load rating at the deck. The pedal bolt pattern and all supporting hardware must still be installed correctly.

8. Is a motion system supplied?

No. The cockpit is motion-ready, while actuators, controls and kit-specific brackets remain separate components.

9. How does cable routing work on Sport Black?

Integrated passthroughs let part of the harness run inside the profiles, reducing loose cable near adjustable supports and future motion hardware.

10. Are the seat and display stand included?

No. Add a compatible option from sim racing seats and select the display support under TV and monitor stands.
