Simagic NEO X-330T – versatile 330 mm steering wheel with the modular NEO X hub
Simagic NEO X-330T is a complete 330 mm steering wheel made for drivers who regularly switch between different types of cars. Its full round rim feels at home in rally cars, touring machinery, classics, road vehicles and many GT models.
The 330 mm diameter provides more leverage than compact Formula and GT wheels measuring between 280 and 310 mm. Steering movements feel calmer, and the forces produced by the wheelbase are spread across a larger rim. The wheel does not feel loose or imprecise, however. A one-piece CNC-machined aluminium frame keeps the structure rigid and gives the wheel a direct connection to the hub.
Black synthetic leather makes the rim comfortable to use with or without gloves. Orange stitching breaks up the dark finish without making the design overly bright. Two shift paddles and the Simagic QR50 Quick Release are supplied as standard, so the main parts required for use with a compatible Simagic wheelbase are already included.

A full round rim for different types of cars
The NEO X-330T does not use a flat lower section or an open upper rim. Its shape remains completely round, allowing the wheel to move freely through the driver’s hands.
This becomes useful in rally cars and other vehicles that require larger steering angles. When the wheel returns towards the centre, there is no open or flattened section that can reach the driver’s hand in an unexpected position.
The round shape does not limit the wheel to rally driving. A 330 mm rim also works well in touring cars, NASCAR machinery, classics, road cars and many GT vehicles found in modern simulators.
More leverage than 300 and 310 mm wheels
A larger diameter changes the way Direct Drive forces are felt. The longer leverage can make a powerful wheelbase easier to manage over a long stint, especially when the car requires frequent steering corrections.
Movements also become smoother and less abrupt. The driver does not need to make the very short inputs often associated with smaller Formula wheels. This can be useful on uneven surfaces, loose gravel and cars with slower steering ratios.
Drivers who spend nearly all of their time in GT3 cars may still prefer a smaller 300 or 310 mm wheel. The NEO X-330T makes more sense when the same cockpit is used for several different vehicle classes.
One-piece CNC aluminium frame
Beneath the synthetic leather is a one-piece frame machined from aluminium. It carries the loads between the grips, the NEO X hub and the Quick Release.
A rigid frame reduces flex when a stronger Direct Drive wheelbase is used. This matters not only at high torque levels. A stable structure can also help preserve smaller details because movement is not absorbed by soft connections between separate parts of the wheel.
Aluminium keeps the structure stiff without relying on a heavy steel frame. This helps control the rotating mass of the complete wheel and keeps the steering response reasonably lively.
Black synthetic leather for regular use
The rim is covered with black synthetic leather. It works well with bare hands and does not require the same careful maintenance as Alcantara.
After a longer session, the surface can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. This is practical in a cockpit used every day or shared by several drivers.
Synthetic leather has a smoother feel than suede-style materials, but the shape and thickness of the grip still provide a secure hand position during quick steering movements.
Orange contrast stitching
Orange stitching runs around the rim and matches the visual language used across other Simagic products. It stands out against the black covering without dominating the design.
The contrasting line can also make the wheel’s position easier to notice in a dimly lit room. During driving, attention naturally stays on the circuit, but the bright stitching provides a useful visual reference in peripheral vision.
NEO X hub with controls close to the hands
The centre of the wheel uses the modular NEO X hub made from carbon-fibre reinforced composite. It carries the buttons, encoders, multi-position switches and lighting without filling the entire space inside the rim.
The controls are divided between the left and right sides. The main buttons remain close to the thumbs, while the larger rotary controls sit nearer the centre of the panel.
The layout is not arranged purely for visual symmetry. Different control types have clearly different shapes and positions, making them easier to identify by touch while the driver remains focused on the road.
Eight programmable RGB buttons
The eight main buttons can be assigned to functions used during a race. Depending on the car, they may operate the pit limiter, radio, headlights, wipers, ignition, camera controls or reset commands.
RGB lighting allows the controls to be organised by colour. Pit functions can use one colour, communication another and vehicle controls a third.
This is particularly helpful before the layout becomes familiar. After several sessions, the colour often becomes a quicker reference than the small symbol printed on a button sticker.
Defined activation point
The buttons have a short movement and a noticeable activation point. They respond quickly, but a light brush from the hand is less likely to trigger an unwanted command.
A set of button labels is included. The front panel can therefore be adapted to a particular simulator or car instead of following a fixed factory arrangement.
Four encoders for vehicle adjustments
Two illuminated 12-position encoders
The larger front-mounted encoders offer 12 selectable positions and individual lighting. They suit settings where the driver wants to move directly to a specific level.
Typical assignments include traction control, ABS, engine maps, differential settings or energy recovery. Available functions depend on the simulator and the car being driven.
The illumination provides a quick visual reference when a setting changes. The driver does not need to search for a confirmation message on the monitor for every adjustment.
Two thumb encoders
The thumb encoders sit closer to the outer edges of the hub. They can be adjusted without fully releasing the rim.
This position is useful for settings changed several times during a lap, such as brake balance, traction control or ABS. A small correction can be made before the next braking zone while both hands remain in a stable position.
Two seven-way multi-position switches
Each switch combines directional movement, rotation and a push action. One physical control can therefore replace several ordinary buttons.
They are well suited to black-box navigation, dashboard pages, car settings and race strategy menus. One switch can manage vehicle information, while the second handles communication or interface controls.
This leaves the eight RGB buttons available for commands that need to be activated immediately.
Nine programmable RGB LEDs
A row of nine RGB LEDs sits across the upper section of the hub. Their most common purpose is displaying rising engine speed and the preferred shift point.
The LEDs may also be used for other supported telemetry events. Their exact behaviour depends on the simulator, selected profile and type of connection.
The lighting remains clearly visible inside the 330T rim. Colour changes can be noticed in peripheral vision without adding a separate shift-light module above the wheelbase.
Two adjustable shift paddles
The NEO X-330T includes two UP+ paddle modules. The left paddle is normally assigned to downshifts, while the right controls upshifts.
The paddle position can be adjusted to match the 330 mm rim and the driver’s hand size. This is useful because the fingers sit farther from the centre than they would on a 280 or 300 mm wheel.
A standard two-paddle setup is suitable for GT cars, touring machinery, rally cars with sequential transmissions and many modern road vehicles. Drivers using a separate H-pattern shifter can still keep the paddles assigned to additional functions.
Compatibility with Simagic wheelbases
Simagic NEO X-330T includes the QR50 Quick Release and works with wheelbases from the Alpha and Alpha EVO families:
- Simagic Alpha Mini
- Simagic Alpha
- Simagic Alpha U
- Simagic Alpha EVO Sport
- Simagic Alpha EVO
- Simagic Alpha EVO Pro
- Simagic Alpha EVO Ultra
The QR50 allows the steering wheel to be removed without undoing mounting screws. A smaller Formula-style wheel can be installed for open-wheel racing, and the NEO X-330T can be fitted again for rally, classics, touring cars or road vehicles.
Before the first session, it is worth checking for updates in SimPro Manager. Current firmware helps ensure that the buttons, encoders, lighting and paddle modules are detected correctly.
Wireless communication with the wheelbase
When paired with a compatible Simagic wheelbase, steering-wheel data is transmitted wirelessly over a 2.4 GHz connection. A USB cable does not need to run from the rotating wheel to the computer.
Pairing and configuration are handled through the Simagic software environment. The initial setup may vary slightly depending on the wheelbase model and installed firmware.
Connection to third-party wheelbases
The wheel can also be used with selected third-party wheelbases through Simagic MagLink.
MagLink creates a wired connection between the NEO X hub and the computer. The buttons, encoders, paddles and lighting no longer need to communicate through the electronics of a Simagic wheelbase.
The data connection does not solve the mechanical mounting by itself. Depending on the wheelbase, an appropriate adapter or wheel-side Quick Release may still be required.
MagLink also provides access to supported SimHub features. Mechanical mounting, power and data communication should all be checked before parts are ordered for a mixed-brand setup.
Pedals for an NEO X-330T setup
The NEO X-330T can be used with pedals from any manufacturer. Simagic pedal sets may still be convenient for drivers who prefer to keep the main controls within one ecosystem.
- Simagic P500 – an accessible Load Cell set for drivers moving beyond basic pedals
- Simagic P700 – adjustable Load Cell pedals with room for later expansion
- Simagic P1000 – a modular pedal platform supporting hydraulic and haptic accessories
- Simagic P2000 – a hydraulic pedal set intended for more advanced cockpits
Comparison with other NEO X steering wheels
The NEO X range uses a common control hub, but each complete wheel is built around a different rim shape and driving style.
- Simagic NEO X-310G – a compact D-shaped wheel aimed mainly at GT and circuit racing
- Simagic NEO X-330R – a round 330 mm wheel with red details and a more traditional appearance
- Simagic NEO X-350W – a larger 350 mm wheel developed mainly for drifting
NEO X-330T and NEO X-310G
The 310G is smaller and uses a flattened lower section. It is better suited to GT cars where the driver’s hands stay in one position for most of the lap.
The NEO X-330T has a full round rim and a larger diameter. It allows the hands to change position more naturally, making it a better fit for rally, classics and road cars.
NEO X-330T and NEO X-330R
Both wheels use a full 330 mm rim, but their finishes and visual character differ.
The 330T uses black synthetic leather, orange stitching and a one-piece CNC frame. The 330R has red details and a more traditional look. The choice between them is mainly influenced by grip preference and cockpit styling.
NEO X-330T and NEO X-350W
The 350W is larger and more focused on drifting. Its diameter suits broad steering movements, although it also takes up more space and creates greater leverage.
The NEO X-330T remains the more flexible option. It can still handle larger steering angles while fitting touring cars, GT machinery, rally cars and road vehicles more naturally.
Recommended use of the Simagic NEO X-330T
The wheel suits a driver who may use a rally car, a classic vehicle with a manual gearbox, a touring car and a modern road-going sports car during the same week.
Its full round rim does not force the hands into one fixed position, while the 330 mm diameter provides a familiar grip. At the same time, the NEO X hub offers more controls than a simple round wheel with only a few buttons.
A smaller open wheel may be more suitable for dedicated Formula racing. A 350 mm rim can make more sense for drifting alone. The NEO X-330T sits between those extremes and works well in a varied sim racing setup.
