Moza AY90 Yoke - Force Feedback that changes with the aircraft

MOZA AY90 Force Feedback Yoke Base replaces the fixed resistance of a spring mechanism with forces that can change throughout a flight. It develops 4.2 Nm of roll torque and up to 90 N on the push-pull axis. Pitch travel is 95 mm, while the yoke can rotate through a total of 180 degrees. The controls therefore need not feel identical during take-off, cruise and the flare.

Force Feedback can convey changes caused by airspeed, trim, turbulence, stalls and touchdown. A small correction in calm air feels different from holding the aircraft steady in gusts. This Force Feedback yoke base is aimed at pilots who want the aircraft's response in their hands instead of relying only on visual cues.

Precise axes and useful front controls

A 15-bit magnetic encoder tracks the yoke position. Its contactless design gives smooth readings during fine course corrections and avoids the wear associated with a mechanical sensor. The carbon-fibre-reinforced composite housing keeps the assembly manageable, while the aluminium quick release provides a rigid connection to a compatible yoke handle.

The front panel carries rocker switches, sliders and a multi-position rotary control. They can be remapped in MOZA Cockpit for functions such as trim, flaps, parking brake or camera views. A 16.7-million-colour RGB strip can react to telemetry, keeping selected status information close to the primary flight controls.

Desk or aluminium-profile mounting

MOZA AY90 weighs 4.5 kg and measures 325 × 252 × 111 mm. Two desk clamps are included, so you can put together your first setup without buying a separate frame. The base can also be mounted on an aluminium profile. Mounting points on top let you place an extra display or flight instruments close to the main control axis.

If you are building a panel for VFR or IFR flying, the MOZA MGX1000 panel is a natural addition. A larger setup that requires 210 N of force and 150 mm of travel can be built around the MOZA AY210 MFY Yoke Bundle. MOZA AY90 is the better fit for lighter desks or less rigid flight simulator frames.

The set shown combines the AY90 with the MFY PRO. The MFY PRO is sold separately.

Moza AY90 Yoke - Force Feedback that changes with the aircraft

Simulators and planned profile support

The base is made for PC and supports Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, DCS, War Thunder and other compatible titles. The exact effects depend on the simulator, aircraft and telemetry available. A first-time setup should include calibration, axis direction checks and a sensible Force Feedback limit.

Profile importing is planned for a future MOZA Cockpit update. It should not be treated as a day-one feature until the relevant software is released. The MOZA AY90 Force Feedback Yoke Base can already be configured manually, allowing the resistance to be tuned for a light general-aviation aircraft, an airliner or personal preference.

MOZA AY90 Force Feedback Yoke Base – questions and answers

1. What is the MOZA AY90?

It is a compact PC flight-yoke base. Instead of relying on fixed spring resistance, it uses Force Feedback that can vary with events in the simulated aircraft.

2. How much force does the AY90 produce?

The base provides up to 90 N on the push-pull axis and 4.2 Nm of roll torque. Pitch travel is 95 mm and the total roll range is 180 degrees.

3. Which Force Feedback effects can it reproduce?

Supported effects include changes related to airspeed, trim, stalls, turbulence and touchdown. The exact selection depends on the simulator and aircraft integration.

4. Does it work with Microsoft Flight Simulator?

Yes. The AY90 is designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator and also supports X-Plane, DCS and War Thunder. Telemetry depth can vary between titles.

5. Are desk clamps included?

Yes. The standalone AY90 package includes two desk clamps, allowing the base to be installed without buying a separate cockpit frame.

6. Can the AY90 be mounted on an aluminium rig?

Yes. It supports aluminium-profile mounting, and its top mounting points can carry a compatible instrument or display close to the yoke.

7. Which yoke handle fits the base?

The AY90 uses an aluminium quick-release interface for compatible MOZA yoke handles. Check the handle's compatibility list before ordering.

8. Does the AY90 replace the MOZA AY210?

No. They serve different setups. The AY90 is lighter and more compact, while the MOZA AY210 supplies more force and longer travel for a larger cockpit.

9. Are ready-made profiles available immediately?

Profile importing is planned for a future MOZA Cockpit update. Until that software is released, it should be considered a planned feature and manual configuration should be used.

10. What can I add to an AY90 setup?

The MOZA MGX1000 can add physical instrument controls. The most suitable throttle and rudder pedals depend on the aircraft type you fly most often.
