The TB10A is a two-channel Class D amplifier based on the Texas Instruments TPA3116D2 chip. Its 130 x 100 x 35 mm aluminium enclosure fits beside a cockpit, beneath a desk or near a multimedia system. The amplifier supports 2-8-ohm loads and works with passive speakers as well as tactile transducers.
Fosi Audio states a maximum output of up to 2 x 100 W into 4 ohms. This figure is not guaranteed continuous power available from both channels at the same time. Actual output depends on the load, signal level, temperature and power-supply capacity. The standard package includes a 24 V / 4.5 A supply, AC power cable and manual.
The analogue stereo RCA input accepts a line-level signal from a computer, sound card, audio interface or another source. Front-panel controls cover volume, bass and treble. The TB10A has no Bluetooth, USB, built-in sound card or dedicated low-pass filter, so a computer setup requires a line output or separate audio interface connected through RCA.
As a bass shaker amplifier, the Fosi Audio TB10A can drive two independent transducers, one on each channel. In SimHub, a sound card sends telemetry effects to the RCA input, the amplifier raises the signal level and speaker cables carry it to the shakers. This makes it possible to separate effects between a pedal deck and seat or create left and right tactile zones.
The 2-8-ohm load range covers popular 4-ohm transducers available from Simline. The TB10A works with the Xcite XBS25-4 and is the required amplifier for the Xcite XBS50-4. It can also drive the Xcite XBS100-4 at moderate intensity, although it will not exploit the largest model's complete power headroom.
The amplifier is also suitable for the Dayton Audio BST-2 and Dayton Audio BST-1. Increase the output gradually with either transducer because the amplifier has more rated headroom than their nominal power. The simplest and safest arrangement uses one 4-ohm shaker on each channel.
Begin configuration at a low volume and enable effects one at a time. A low-pass filter in SimHub, a DSP or source software limits the signal to a useful tactile range. The bass control on the TB10A is not a dedicated filter. Do not bridge the channels or connect their negative terminals together unless the manufacturer explicitly approves that operating mode.
