1. What is the Xcite XBS100-4?
It is a passive 4-ohm bass shaker that converts an amplifier signal into vibration in a seat, platform or another rigid structure.
2. Is the XBS100-4 rated at 100 W or 500 W?
The figures describe different IEC 60268-5 tests. Xcite specifies 100 W for the Rms Noise Test and 500 W as Long-term Max Power. The 500 W value must not be described as 500 W RMS.
3. Does the XBS100-4 require an amplifier?
Yes. This is a passive transducer and requires an external amplifier compatible with a 4-ohm load. An amplifier is not included in this offer.
4. Does the bass shaker connect directly to a computer?
No. The XBS100-4 has no USB connection or internal sound card. The computer passes its signal to an external amplifier through a suitable audio output or interface.
5. Does the XBS100-4 work with SimHub?
Yes, as part of an audio chain. SimHub generates effects from telemetry, while a sound card and amplifier deliver the signal to the bass shaker.
6. Where can the XBS100-4 be mounted?
Typical locations include a seat bracket, rigid platform, cockpit plate or another component intended to vibrate. The connection must be secure and stiff.
