Choose how each gear change feels

The SSQ-1 changes gear with forward and backward lever movements. You can tune the resistance and the feel as the mechanism passes its detent by adjusting spring preload and swapping the balls. Five ball types are supplied, so you can try different combinations without buying another adjustment kit.

Nylon and POM give a gentler action than the steel options, which produce a more pronounced click. A ceramic pair is also included. Use the same ball type and size on both sides of the mechanism. Ball selection affects noise as well as feel, so the strongest notch may not be your preferred setting for late-night driving.

Handle adjustment and another control within reach

The handle has 25 mm of continuous height adjustment. Loosen the bolts, move the grip to the required position and secure it again. Set the height while seated in your driving position, with your arm comfortably reaching the shifter. The grip itself is 115 mm long and 35 mm in diameter.

A small programmable lever sits next to the grip. You can use it for commands such as neutral or reverse if your game supports separate assignments for those functions. It does not turn the SSQ-1 into an H-pattern gearbox. Gear changes still use the sequential forward-and-back action.

Decide where in the movement a shift registers

SIMNET software lets you monitor the lever inputs, reverse the shift directions and adjust the activation point for upshifts and downshifts. A command can therefore register earlier or later in the lever movement. This electronic setting is separate from the mechanical resistance adjustment.

For a PC setup, connect the shifter by USB using the supplied cable. There is also a TRANSIT port for selected third-party wheel bases. SIMNET does not publish a model list on the product page, so confirm the exact base and required cable before using that connection. Similar-looking sockets do not establish compatibility.

Mount it on its own or beside a handbrake

The SSQ-1 base has holes and slots for bolting it to a simulator. Compare your cockpit plate with the manufacturer's mounting drawing before installation. The dimensions shown are approximately 145 × 62 × 295 mm, and the net weight is 1.5 kg.

If you also use a SIMNET SHB-100 handbrake, an optional shared mounting plate can hold both devices. Their relative positions can be adjusted, and the plate supports layouts on either side of the seat. The handbrake, shared plate and optional replacement handles are not part of the standard SSQ-1 package.

1. Does the SimNet SSQ-1 have an H-pattern mode?

No. It is a sequential shifter operated with forward and backward lever movements. You do not select positions in an H-pattern gate.

2. How do I change the shift resistance and feel?

Adjust the mechanism's spring preload and choose the detent balls. Ball selection changes both the feel of passing the detent and the sound of the click.

3. Do I need to buy alternative detent balls?

Five types are included: nylon, POM, ceramic and two steel sizes. Use matching ball types and sizes on both sides of the mechanism.

4. How much handle height adjustment is available?

25 mm, with continuous adjustment. Secure the handle with the bolts again after setting the height.

5. What is the small lever beside the grip for?

It provides an additional programmable control. Neutral or reverse are possible assignments, depending on the game's command options and your configuration.

6. What can I adjust in SIMNET software?

You can monitor inputs, reverse the shift directions and set the activation points. Mechanical resistance is adjusted separately on the shifter itself.

7. Does the SSQ-1 require a SIMNET wheel base?

Not when connected to a PC by USB. The shifter connects as a separate device, and a USB cable is included.

8. Does TRANSIT work with every wheel base and console?

That is not claimed. SIMNET refers to selected third-party bases without listing models on this page. PlayStation and Xbox compatibility is not confirmed either.

9. Are the handbrake and shared mounting plate included?

Not with the standard SSQ-1. The SHB-100 and shared mounting plate are separate accessories or components of additional bundles.

10. What are the dimensions and weight of the SSQ-1?

The manufacturer's drawing shows approximately 145 mm width, 62 mm depth and 295 mm height. Net weight is 1.5 kg. These are product figures, not shipping package measurements.

11. How long is the warranty on SIMNET products?

SIMNET products purchased from Simline.eu are covered by a 12-month warranty in accordance with SIMNET warranty terms. Simline.eu is an authorised partner of the brand.

12. How are warranty claims handled for SIMNET products bought from Simline.eu?

Simline.eu acts as an intermediary in the warranty process and handles the case after receiving the documentation. Once the issue has been reviewed, we provide further instructions.

13. How do I submit a SIMNET warranty claim?

Email support@simline.eu or simnet@simline.eu with a description of the fault, photos or a video showing the issue and proof of purchase. We will provide further instructions after reviewing the claim.
