FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
How does the hydraulic system in the Simagic TB-RS work?
The TB-RS uses a full hydraulic system — just like a real handbrake in a racing car. Lever force is transmitted through hydraulic fluid, delivering a linear, natural and highly precise braking feel at a 1:1 ratio. Hydraulic damping is adjustable, so you can tune the lever resistance to suit your personal preference and driving style.
What are the elastomers for and how many are included?
The TB-RS ships with 9 elastomers that enable 4 stiffness levels for the lever resistance. Elastomers swap in seconds without tools, allowing you to instantly change the handbrake feel for rally, drift or circuit driving. Different combinations produce either progressive or more linear resistance, giving you precise control over the handbrake's character.
What is the optional Haptic Feedback module for the TB-RS?
The SIMAGIC P-HPR (Haptic Pedal Reactor) is an optional add-on that delivers tactile vibration feedback through the handbrake lever. It allows you to physically feel the moment of wheel lock with exceptional clarity — providing information that would otherwise only be visible on a telemetry screen. The module is sold separately and is fully compatible with the TB-RS.
How is the TB-RS lever position adjusted?
The TB-RS lever can be set to four different angles in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The rotating oil reservoir automatically adapts to the selected mounting position, ensuring correct hydraulic function regardless of lever angle. Interchangeable grip handles let you match the handbrake's appearance to the rest of your rig.
How does the Simagic TB-RS connect to a PC or wheelbase?
The TB-RS supports two connection modes: direct USB to PC (plug & play) or via a dedicated port to Simagic wheelbases. Connecting through a Simagic wheelbase simplifies cockpit cabling and enables deeper hardware integration with SimPro Manager 2.0.
What software is used to configure the TB-RS?
The TB-RS is configured via SimPro Manager 2.0. The software features automatic device detection, automatic driver installation and continuous firmware updates. It also allows fine-tuning of output curves and sensitivity ranges for precise control over how the handbrake behaves in-game.
How is the Simagic TB-RS mounted in a cockpit?
The TB-RS features M6 threaded mounting holes that allow direct attachment to aluminium profile rigs and most popular sim racing cockpits. The unit measures 178 × 95 × 387 mm and weighs 1.35 kg, making it compact and lightweight even in more complex rig configurations.
