Place the keyboard where it is actually needed

The adjustable SimXPro mount moves the keyboard from a desk or the driver's lap directly into the cockpit. Swing the tray towards the seat when changing game settings, writing a message, controlling telemetry software or preparing the car before a session. Once the task is complete, the arm can be moved aside, leaving the cockpit entrance and the area around the wheel easier to access.

This layout is useful whenever the rig serves more than the driving itself. The keyboard remains available during updates, device configuration and everyday computer control without occupying a fixed position in front of the driver. The usable travel depends on the mounting point, neighbouring accessories and the free space around the seat, so the hinge location should be planned before every fastener is fully tightened.

Single-pivot movement with tool-free position locking

The key component is the SimXPro adjustable elbow hinge with lever, reference 279. It forms a single pivot between the cockpit frame and the profile supporting the tray. The component description states an adjustment range of up to 180 degrees, allowing the keyboard arm to move towards the user or away from the main control area.

An integrated handle locks the chosen position without requiring a hex key for every adjustment. How to assemble the adjustable keyboard tray

First slide an M8 T-nut into the cockpit profile slot and fasten the hinge to it with an M8 × 12 socket-head bolt. Attach the black 40 × 40 mm profile to the other side of the hinge using an M8 × 20 socket-head bolt.

Position the keyboard tray on the profile and secure it with three M8 T-nuts and three M8 × 12 button-head bolts. Fit the 4040 end cap to the free end of the profile, then check every joint and the locking lever before use.
