Sabelt X99-E combines the X99 V2 frame with a Lite Wheel Deck and Lite Pedal Mount. Its raised seating layout is intended to resemble a road-car driving position. The seat, seat brackets, wheelbase and pedals are sold separately.
Sabelt X99-E - questions and answers
1. What is Sabelt X99-E?
It is a cockpit package built around the Sabelt X99 V2 frame. The package also contains a Lite Wheel Deck for the wheelbase and a Lite Pedal Mount for the pedal set.
2. How does X99-E differ from the standard X99 V2?
The Sabelt X99 V2 is the underlying cockpit frame. X99-E adds both Lite mounting plates, saving the buyer from ordering the wheelbase deck and pedal platform separately.
3. What kind of seating position does X99-E provide?
The seat is raised by 80 × 40 mm profiles located beneath it. This creates a road-car-inspired position rather than the low, reclined posture associated with a Formula cockpit.
4. Is a racing seat included?
No. The seat, side brackets and seat sliders are sold separately. This allows the seating system to be selected around the driver's size and preferred backrest angle.
5. Does the package include a wheelbase or pedals?
No. The package supplies the cockpit and mounting plates. The Direct Drive wheelbase, steering wheel, pedals and their electronics must be added separately.
6. Will every wheelbase fit the Lite Wheel Deck?
Compatibility should be checked rather than assumed. Compare the threaded mounting points beneath the wheelbase with the holes in the Sabelt Lite Wheel Deck before ordering.
7. Is a Direct Drive front mount supplied?
No. X99-E comes with a conventional deck for bottom-mounted wheelbases. Hardware designed solely for front mounting may require a different Sabelt bracket.
8. How can I check pedal compatibility?
Measure the pedal-base width and compare its bolt pattern with the slots and holes in the Lite Pedal Mount. Large housings should also be checked for clearance around the folded side walls.
9. Can the wheel and pedal positions be adjusted?
Yes, within the range provided by the mounting slots and the attachment points on the cockpit. Carrying out an initial loose fit makes it easier to settle on a comfortable position before tightening every connection.
10. Who should choose X99-E over S99-E or P99-E?
X99-E is the natural choice for drivers who prefer a raised, road-car-like posture. S99-E targets a more conventional GT arrangement, while P99-E is intended for a low Formula seating position.
