Sabelt 5-Point Seat Belts - Improve your position in the seat

Sabelt 5P Seatbelts are made specifically for racing simulators. Their materials, webbing and components draw on Sabelt's motorsport harness experience, but this model is adapted for sim racing. The arrangement combines two shoulder straps, two lap-side sections and an additional fifth strap routed from below.

The lower point helps keep the harness layout in position and creates a configuration closer to a fully equipped racing cockpit. Once correctly installed, the sim racing harness limits upper-body movement during long sessions or while a motion platform is working. The harness itself is mechanical, with no power, driver software or game profile required.

Deep Black, Racing Red and Royal Blue

Three colour variants are available on the same product page: Deep Black, Racing Red and Royal Blue. Black blends into a dark aluminium rig, red creates a familiar competition-car accent, and blue works well with a cockpit built around cooler visual details.

The selected colour does not change the function or five-point layout. Sabelt 5P Seatbelts suit GT, endurance and rally-style simulators, as well as commercial centres where the cockpit must look complete and support different drivers throughout the day. They can also be used on a static rig when its frame offers suitable anchoring points.

Installation in Sabelt and third-party cockpits

Sabelt lists compatibility with its P, S and X Series cockpits. Suitable examples include the Sabelt P99 Evo 1 and Sabelt X99 Evo 1. Other compatible cockpit, seat and mounting components can be found in the Sabelt Sim Racing range.

A third-party frame can be used only when it provides rigid and correctly positioned anchoring points. Sabelt allows installation with seats that have a dedicated lower harness opening and with models that do not. The fifth strap must still follow a suitable route without twisting or contacting the seat mechanism. The package contains the five-point harness, fixing parts and screws.

Adjustment during everyday use

Adjust each section so the harness sits consistently against the body without interfering with steering, pedal operation or access to other controls. The lower strap must run without twisting or catching on the seat mechanism. Recheck the fit after moving the seat, changing the backrest angle or placing a different driver in the cockpit.

The design is prepared for belt tensioner systems. A tensioner is a separate device and may require its own power supply, controller and software configuration. The Sabelt harness remains a mechanical component.

Sabelt 5P Seatbelts are not an approved vehicle safety system. Sabelt does not state FIA or ECE homologation for this sim racing model, so it must not be used as a restraint for road driving or a real track car. Its purpose is to improve support, immersion and the visual finish of a racing simulator.

Sabelt 5P Seatbelts - questions and answers

1. What are Sabelt 5P Seatbelts designed for?

They are made for racing simulators. Two shoulder straps, two lap-side sections and an additional lower point help maintain a steadier position while giving the cockpit a more complete racing configuration.

2. Which colour variants can I choose?

The product page offers Deep Black, Racing Red and Royal Blue. Construction, intended use and package contents are identical across all three options.

3. What is included in the package?

Sabelt supplies the five-point harness, fixing parts and screws. A simulator cockpit and seat shown in promotional images are not included with this accessory.

4. Which Sabelt cockpits are compatible?

The manufacturer lists the P, S and X cockpit series. Suitable examples include the Sabelt P99 Evo 1 and Sabelt X99 Evo 1.

5. Does the seat need a dedicated opening for the fifth strap?

Not necessarily. Sabelt allows installation with seats that have a lower harness opening and with models that do not. In either case, the fifth strap must run without twisting and attach to a rigid point on the cockpit.

6. Is this sim racing harness suitable for motion platforms?

Yes. Sabelt describes the harness for demanding motion-system sessions and states that it is ready for belt tensioner integration. A tensioner is a separate product and is not included with the harness.

7. Does the harness need power or software?

The harness alone needs no power or software. When paired with a separate belt tensioner, the electronics and configuration requirements depend on that particular system.

8. How does a five-point harness differ from a four-point model?

A four-point configuration uses two shoulder straps and two lap-side sections. This five-point version adds a lower fifth strap, creating a more complete layout and an additional routing point near the seat base.

9. Can Sabelt 5P Seatbelts be used in a real car?

They must not be treated as a vehicle safety restraint. This model is designed for sim racing, and Sabelt does not state FIA or ECE approval for road or track use.

10. What warranty and shipping data does the manufacturer provide?

The stated manufacturer warranty is 2 years. Shipping data is 4.5 kg and 50 × 50 × 15 cm; these figures describe the shipment rather than the net weight or physical dimensions of the harness itself.
